A Black Man
Why is it that a Black Man can create a tiny piece called a filament
(electric light - Lewis Latimer) that allows people to see in the dark?
But can't be seen fit to lead a country to the true light.
Why is it that a Black Man can create an instrument
(clock - Benjamin Banneker) that all people use to tell time?
But people don't think it is time for him to run a country.
Why is it that a Black Man can design a place for the high authorities
to meet in and a place for the president to live in (The Capital and the
White House Phillip Reid (a slave) & Pierre L'Enfant)?
But not good enough to lead these meetings or live in himself.
Why is it that a Black Man was brilliant enough to do the first open heart surgery
(Dr. Daniel Hale Williams) and show the world how to get
and preserve plasma (Dr. Charles Drew)?
But not good enough to put a program in place where everyone can afford this surgery.
Why is it that a Black Man was creative enough to design an instrument
(traffic light - Garrett Morgan) to bring multiple people (traffic) to a halt?
But not seen creative enough to design a plan to bring all this
unnecessary and worthless fighting between countries.
Why is it that a Black Man could create the soles
(shoes - Jan Matzeliger) that people walk on everyday?
But not seen good enough to fill the shoes of a bad president.
Why is it that a Black Man was smart enough and brave enough
to teach himself (Fredrick Douglas &Thomas Fuller - both slaves)
and others how to read, write and/or calculate math?
But not seen smart enough and bold enough to calculate a platform to be
President to a country that sure needs another first by us.
So you see my Brother and Sisters, what I am saying is, let us not forgot our past, which
led us to our present and can definitely be the backbone to our future. We were good
enough, smart enough, creative enough, and bold enough then, so lets all give Obama the
chance to show that we are still these things and more. We all are as strong as our
weakest link, so don't be that weak link that denies our people that chance to show we still
can OVERCOME and BE THE FIRST!
How are you fine I hope. This note is to let you know that I love you and that your inspirational messages touches many lives. Also, I would share with you a true love story of my brother and his recently deceased wife of 41years. Their love began in 1973 at a University on the north side of Chicago. They were both students there when her brother introduced them to each other. They were married on February 3, 1975 in a downtown courthouse. They did not have wedding announcements or a reception. After all they were still students with limited incomes from part-time and work-study jobs. In September, 1977 their first son was born and in 1979, she graduated with a degree in history. She began working for the federal government that year and continued to be employed by them until she was stricken with bone marrow cancer in 2012. He did not complete his degree in psychology but began training as a sheet metal journeyman to provide for his family. In 1982, they were blessed with a second son. During this time they were very active in their church. She was a soloist in the choir and later on they became group leaders in their church's marriage ministry. During her treatments for cancer he continued to be a true loving husband and caretaker. The marriage vow through sickness and health was truly exhibited by him everyday. She lost her battle with the disease on January 3, 2016 and went on to glory. My brother planned and had the most beautiful, loving and thoughtful homegoing/funeral services for her. On tomorrow, February 3, 2017 they would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary.
A special song that he loves so much is entitled "Faith", is recorded by Kevin Edwards and others. The love and appreciation that I have for my brother could never end. I know you will continue to lift folks up in love where they belong.
Thanks so much,
Love and Blessings,

My Precious Gem
Aunt Lula you shined so bright, with your consistent encouragement, positivity and gracious insight
God gave you a smile that was so divine, anyone in your presence was special and refined
You flourished daily with your stewardship, always showing kindness and goodwill
No one was denied your love, they were only fulfilled
You kept the faith and continued to shine, like precious diamonds, emeralds, pearls, rubies,
We are grateful for you and the abundant memories
My love and respect for you will never cease, good and faithful servant, I bid you peace.
Is the mind so corrupt and influenced by the environment that it cannot be reversed? Folks are exhibiting behaviors that are so tragic, disturbing and outright devilish. This European mutant behavior had become so prevalent in other communities that it is not being managed or attended to.
Does it make everyone vulnerable or is it going to be considered acceptable?
The human mind is a powerful force but if it is manipulated and controlled without resistance it will no longer be able to exist. Holla if you hear me!!!!
We are living in a time limited space. Time continues to move as we go into ourselves and find deep love. Love can ease the pain of loneliness and isolation. Love is our refuge and strength. It will last until we deny it.
