Black People : Why is it Legal to Sell Your Blood but not Your Sex ?

Peace and Blessings Family,

I just posted a thread asking about the pros and cons of selling your blood / plasma.

And it dawned on me, that it is legal to sell your blood, but not your sex ...

Isn't one's blood as much a part of them, as their sex?

Why is it legal to sell one, and not the other?

Is legality determined by who profits? For example, corporations profit from the selling of your blood, but not of your sex, thus the difference?

Any thoughts on this Family?

Let's put it this way. If you are in an accident and need a transfusion, I'd be willing to bet you'd want blood over sex.

Brother Kamau ... i would imagine that the "need" and subsequent opinion regarding each, would vary depending on the one who is in need.

The blood transfusion person is going to say their need is greater, more moral, all of that ... but selling sex has been big business forever ... obviously needed too.

Your argument suggesting one may be wanted over another, during a particular circumstance, is reasonable ... but i'm wondering ... why aren't both available legally?

I'm not suggesting that one is better or worse than the other, I'm just wondering why both aren't legal?

We talk a lot about this country being capitalistic and stuff ... here is a perfect example of a capitalistic opportunity ... yet it is denied.

Why?

It's not illegal everywhere. There's that county in Nevada where it's alright.
It is kind of crazy though.. you can give it away for free to every person that
passes but you can't negotiate any form of compensation for it.. I would't
want to see it legal like a business but what happens between consenting
adults is going to happen anyway. Why criminalize it? That said, knowing
the decadent kind of society we live in, our daugthers would be railroaded
right into brothels though... talking about, "I'm just trying to pay for my
college"..
