I ain't gone lie, I used to love boudain. Anybody else eaten boudain?

I grew up on it. Boudain balls and all.

Zummo's but I no longer eat pork except on rare occasion. I admit though the brown rice mix don't have the same taste as the pork, but it's healthier. The cousin I rent from is my Fam from Louisiane and her husband is from NOLA. When they have parties there is no restriction on what dishes will be served. Virtually anything creole or Cajun including crayfish.

I keep a box of Boudin in the freezer, Whenever I go home to New Orleans I take the back roads and go through Krotz Springs to stop at Billy's Mini Mart. Krotz Springs is a country hick town but the food is magnificent. I make my own boudin balls out of the boudin.

The funniest thing is I found that my Ghanaian relations don't like gumbo and I don't like many of their stews and soups. I see similarities between gumbo and African soups but the taste is so different it like comparing pasta to jambalaya. Both use tomatoes, meat and starch but spaghetti just isn't Italian jambalaya.

Before I even started this, I knew Brother Omowale Jabali and Brother Blackbird would contribute so wonderfully to this thread. Thanks you guys, all of you! Loving all you share. Really feel at home in this thread. You don't have to wonder why.

If there's one thing to bring a people together, it's the food they grew up on and have grown to love. Ain't no fussing over that.

Yeah, the spices are different as well as the style of cooking. For example, I can't even find palm oil in a local market and only use peanut oil for turkey frying.

In fact, I don't think sassafras grows in West Africa, only in South Africa. I use a little Chinese six-spice for the ginger. Just picked some up this morning.

1619+400=2019 Jamestown Virginia...end of slavery. (Yes modern miseducation and injustices count as slavery) But no proper reparations will be given since the amount of contributions beyond humanity transcends generations. Our people have history that is equal to trillions of dollars including Melanin research and its supernatural power.
