That rings of the truth. My question is where to start in terms of making white people LESS racist because that has to be what needs to happen right now. I think to start with it's important that white Americans stop identifying with Trump as much as they are. He's blurred the lines and lowered the bar to make his own white supremacism somehow up for debate. Maybe white people do need racism bred out of us, but for now I know we can be a lot better than the Proud Boys and Trump. That's where I'm trying to start with friends - to clearly label Trump a white supremacist and get that straight, at least.Hmmm...a white person who overcame their racisim?
I don't think so...unless they ripped out their DNA.
I think racism is embedded in white people. It would take many years to breed it out of them...just jokes (kind of).
There's a couple of white people who are "well-known" that advocate anti-racism, like Jane Elliot and Tim Wise. But I don't track them like that.
All I know is that when push comes to shove, white are capable of becoming possessed by their antebellum ancestors.
I think it's important that white Americans, racist though we are, have that distinguishing line - "I'm not nearly as bad as Trump." Low though that bar is.
