Drink Pretty: The Morning Detox Tea

This is the Morning Detox Tea (or tisane, if you’re particular). It’s a bright concoction with decisive notes of spice and heat. There’s ginger for digestion, turmeric to cleanse the liver, cayenne to warm the body and amp up metabolism, and cinnamon to serve as an anti-inflammatory. It’s a nice way to jumpstart your body at the beginning of the day, because a “detox” regimen doesn’t have to cost $400 and deny you of solid food.

A Salad for Your Skin

The ultimate beauty food salad would fill you up, make your skin glow, be easy to make, and not cost a fortune, much like the Citrus Roasted Carrot & Avocado Salad pictured above.

It’s full of the vitamins and healthy fats you need to maintain a clear complexion. Let’s break it down: carrots are high in beta-carotene, an antioxidant that is converted into Vitamin A, which helps repair skin tissue and even works as natural sun protection. (They also contain Vitamin C, which helps the body produce collagen.) Avocados are a great source of antioxidant carotenoids, they improve your skin’s density, thickness, tone, and general appearance; the fruit’s monounsaturated fatty acids help maintain moisture in the epidermal layer of your skin. Don’t be scared of the word fat! Good fats are your friends and an essential part of keeping firm, moisturized and happy skin.

Here’s how to make this miracle food:

What ever you've done, you can no longer post to the kitchen table
It's been a good while, but this place has always been home. Thankful to be here.
Hi! I'm not as active on this account as I want to be. For one I tend to forget that this site exists until I check my email. Two, I'm currently in the process of building up a fine art site for Oklahoma black and native historical references. The references correlate with another site that will be a storytelling site that has not yet been produced.
Happy to be back and gaining more knowledge!
