The Old Testaments can exist on their own because it makes no references to any other book in order for the reader to gain knowledge of GOD/YH.

The New Testaments cannot exist on their own because it is a derivative and makes references to the Old Testaments that the reader must have in order to develop an understanding of GOD/YH.

The Koran cannot exist on their own because it is a derivative and makes references to the Old Testaments that the reader must have in order to develop an understanding of GOD/YH.

If they cannot exist on their own and the reader cannot get a clear understanding of GOD/YH from it only, what is their purpose?

It wasn't a point for the New Testament to exist on its own, but to record what further happened after the birth of the Holy Son, who was prophesied about in the Old Testament. But it wasn't a point for the Old Testament to exist on its own since there were prophecies told that had need to be fulfilled, as the Holy Son stated, all which is written must be fulfilled.
