After a year of hard work, South Africa has formally joined with the four major emerging powers that form the BRIC cooperation mechanism. South African media said it is an important milestone, signifying South Africa is becoming a major emerging economy in the world.

The prime motivation for South Africa's entry into BRIC — short for Brazil, Russia, India and China — is to create conditions for the country's economic development. Before the outbreak of the international financial crisis, South Africa had experienced the fastest economic growth since 1994, with the economy growing at a rate of more than 5 percent for three consecutive years. But the financial crisis drastically slowed economic growth and pushed unemployment higher.

The role of South Africa's traditional trading partners — Western countries — has been lessened significantly and the emerging economies are becoming increasingly prominent. China is South Africa's largest trading partner, and South Africa is the largest destination in Africa for China's direct investment.

South Africa's trade with India increased to 7.5 billion U.S. dollars last year. Its trade and investment with Brazil and Russia also increased rapidly. The emerging economies are bringing more opportunities for South Africa's development. The accession into the BRIC has become inevitable as the South African government stresses diplomacy should serve the interest of economy.

By joining the BRIC countries, South Africa also hopes to become the gateway for the BRIC countries' entry into Africa. From 2000 to 2008, BRIC trade with Africa increased more than seven times. In 2008, the BRIC trade with Africa accounted for nearly 20 percent of Africa's total foreign trade volume.

Some where I read
"He that has shall have more, and he that has not even that which he has shall be tacken from him"

now not a biblical scholar, I am quite sure the statement was not about material wealth, real estate, commodities, derivitives, hedge funds or federal reserves

But the white supremist oligarchy does believe that in their globalist quest for neoliberalism, and the reconquest of dark skinned peoples

This is what Goldman Sachs had to say about BRIC;

"Here's what Goldman Sachs had to say in its original report[13] (defended in the paper Dreaming with BRICs: The Path to 2050) "Dreaming with BRICS: The Path to 2050," published in 2003:

China's economy will surpass Germany in the next few years, Japan by 2015, and the United States by 2041.
India's growth rate will be the highest—not China's -- and it will overtake Japan (today the world's second-largest economy) by 2032.
BRICs’ currencies could appreciate by 300% over the next 50 years,"
www.wikipedia.com

but what seems to be left out of a conversation regarding BRIC is the livelihood and the welfare of the masses of Black African people

of South Africa

What does Africa need from any other nation other then the 52 nations rght there on the continent?

Russai has everything to gain from African resources
China has everything to gain from African resources
India has everything to gain from African resources

but what does South Africa have to gain from any of them?

Are they going to run the same tired line that the colonists ran in the 1800s and the neocolonists ran in the 1970s?

"You negros are too primitive to have advanced technology to build infrastructure,

so let us out of the kindness of our hearts give you poor backwards folks the benefit of our scientific superiority"

That was a lie back then and it is a lie
2 days before 2011

The 52 nations have enough
metalurgists
geologists
geophysiscist
surveyors
architects
economists
accountants
agronomists
actuaries
landscapers
road builders
engineers
computer technicians
system analysts
programmers

and inventors

And realy who are these folksin BRIC?

China Russia and India, are like the
guy who was once Black,
bleached his skin and straightened his hair,

and then to swindle his children out of their inheritance

made himself up like Morton Downey Junior in "Tropic of Thunder"

India is not the India of Ghandi or Nehru, or indihra Ghandi,
and there is the most extreme levels of poverty any where on the planet, in fact more then any naion in Africa, while mulit billionaires live in fenced of cities and absorb most of the new economic growth with

zero trickle down to the masses

and look ay how the Black folks are still treated there! The Dalits

Since Deng Ziao Ping,
China is not the China of Mao, or Chou En lai or even Sun Yat Sen,
and they will be going through a bursting of thier bubble when they start to run out of fossil fuel.
There is no more free education or health care and 700 million unemployed with no unemployment insurance or welfare

and look at how they treat the dark skinned people of Tibet, and the black folks in Africa working on Chinese factories and mines!

After Boris Yeltsin,
Russia is not the Russia of Lenin and Trotsky,
and there one also finds great disparites of rich and poor and the only wealthy there are the agents who worked for NATO, who now run the organized crime and black market

Brazil, well yes a strong postive woman aligned with the Bolivaran revolution is there, but how can one hide more black folks then in the entire United Startes in conditions of total abject and unremitent poverty?

The ANC signed a no Nationalization Clause for some bizzarre reason and th economci condition is worse then durin apartheid as many African scholars have noted that neocolonialism is far worse then actual colonialism, becuase it is sublte and unnoticed

while Zionisits like DeBeers and Openheimer still control practical all of the gold and diamonds uranium and rare earths for computer, and communications tech and
a large mass of our sisters and brothers still after 20 years live in shanty towns with no heat electricty or running water,

who realy will benefit from such an inclusion into the BRIC?

A few months ago when I was joking about moving to South Africa by way of Brazil this is what I expected, but not this soon. I have been telling folks for years to look to investment in these Emerging Markets and of course the naysayers will continue will their emotional diatribes, particularly against Brazil and China.

Regardless of what some Black folks think here in Babylon, the future is unfolding beforre our eyes and those who continue to harbor sentiment against any of these countries, this is a new alignment on the international stage and posing a direct challenge to western capitalism.

Thanks for sharing.

well the only thing that appears to be emotional are men who hide in the "hallway" like little girls :SuN049::SuN049::SuN049:

rather then stand up like adults and debate maturly with facts and figures, like any JHS school student knows how to do

If any one sees anything emotional in the second post they have the right to challenge any statement, unless they are here to propagandize hate:em2300:
