sing, caged bird, sing,
sing until your harmonies shake your prison walls,
your courage calls upon itself
to make you believe
that you are free
they can’t hold you forever
can never quiet your spirit
and while right now, they may have you down,
you know the sky’s the limit,
and you’ll soar again, where you belong,
bellow out melodies
in the key
of your inner prosperity,
let them see
that down don’t always mean out
and bad ain’t how it has to be
fly through the various chords of your song
moving mountains, knocking down barriers,
eloquently righting all the wrongs
that currently clasp your shackles,
but my, my, when those chains do break (and they will)
they’ll feel that peace you’ve always possessed,
every witness’ soul will quake,
so no matter the pains you endure,
the calamities that box in you soul,
through the tragedies life brings,
caged bird, just sing,
sing to your heart’s content, and truly be whole

Nice one to bring back Rich. This one, wow, when a strangled soul sings out for all it is worth, what a force to be reckoned with.
