Every black man and woman who can own a gun, should own a gun. Exercise your second amendment rights.

And if you're a gun control advocate, you should know that nothing scares people into doing gun control than hundreds of thousands of blacks exercising their second amendment rights.

When the Black Panthers walked around with weapons they were QUICK to pass gun laws.

Joining the NRA is not necessary. Just get a permit and know the laws in your state regarding guns. Practice at the range and know how to handle a firearm. Also, learn how to keep your firearm locked up...
I definitely agree with most of what you wrote! :) However consider this, I was raised up in a military family. I am a so-called "military brat". :( My father taught the boys how to shoot but not the girls! In addition he did not teach us gun safety. I took a Firearms Safety course taught by a professional instructor. I was amazed at how much I learned that my father didn't teach me. He was in the Air Force for 20 years. Maybe my mother discouraged him, who knows. Get a qualified professional to teach both sexes. ;) I know a young Bro who got into a fight with a thug long overdue in his grave. He shot and killed the thug and shot himself in the process!:( The police followed his blood trial straight to his girlfriend's house. Get my drift? ;) Oh yeah, the Bro got 35 years!

The NRA? The same organization that buddies up with ALEC? The same organization that pushes detrimental corporate interests (guns are big business) in Congress while ALEC carriers out as much voter suppression as it can?

Nah. I'm going to pass on that.

I remember that, good of you to point out that information. You can't look at the organization itself. You have to look at everything they support.

That's unfortunate. I could understand the apprehension to letting children use firearms, but if the decision is made to teach children, I don't see why girls should be excluded. If anything they need the training more than the boys due to the rampant violence against women in this country.
