As if the Stock Market is any true indicator of how the U.S. economy is benefiting everyone inside its borders.
The recent jump is only a view of some investors who believe things will be much better three or four months by now. But few of those who actually do real work for a living know a rise in the stock market will be not reflected in their pay checks.
It's actually a statement of relief that Trump's ugly visage and policies will be gone in less than two months. The immature and the ignorant know little of such things which is why their initial reaction is laughter. As if they could explain the nuances.
It's the same with national unemployment figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Even the most joyous of the wealthy know these figures offer a false indication of how many individuals are out of work.
Because BLS' unemployment rate never accounts for those who have given up looking for full-time work, are underemployed or working part time jobs, or those who have exhausted their unemployment benefits.
Some folks don't even file for unemployment.
So, what does it mean to give up looking for full-time work? Perhaps the job is far away and there's not enough money to pay transportation costs, child care costs, or maybe the person is caregiver or has an unstable living situation.
Statistics do not tell the whole story.
