NOI Import Store Grand Opening 1972
During the 1960s, in Chicago, The Nation of Islam opened Temple No 2 Cleaners on 63rd Street, the Temple No 2 Grocery and Restaurant was remodeled into the Shabazz Grocery and Restaurant. The NOI acquired the Shabazz Barber Shop and Cleaners and opened Temple No 2 Clothiers. The Import Store opened October 1972 and offered a full line of Men's, Ladies and children's fashions at affordable prices.
