LOL. They always be tripping. Apparently the William sisters felt the need to say that their ancestry is not from Nigeria.

"We are not Nigerians" Venus and Serena Williams said. It is beginning to seem cliché that Nigerians are quick to speculate about the roots of successful Africans abroad. It doesn't matter whether they can speak a Nigerian language, or have an American accent; whether they grew up in Lagos or spent their childhood on the streets of London.

Could be because 3 out of 5 enslaved came from there and unlike us here, those on the continent can basically just look at us and almost know what part of the Motherland we came from....and yes, I was quite surprised to learn this.

We are an International people. If one doesn't realize this, that's nothing to do with nothing.

Our ancestors were already a diverse crosssection of world humanity, and that used to aid our own past strides towards true equality etc., in this nation, when we embraced it, not reject it...

No 'one size fits all' notion of us has gotten us anywhere, i. e., it is an illusion which reflects what our white exploiters and oppressors would have them to believe about their relations identities, whereas what used to characterize white folk is their warring with each other, the survivors rising to the level of power/wealth/etc. literally by default...

Hence the present lack of a vision of a future for what is truly becoming a diverse population in this nation too...

Nigerians have a very interesting culture. Their "Nollywood" is starting to get more popular and they are heavy on the freelancing scene.

One of my business associates was Nigerian. While I had to end the contract, he did a pretty good job with what I asked him to do.

We should be careful to not judge certain groups in the way they judge us.

I think in terms of black-on-black slavery, in some ways all of us were responsible until it got worse with the white man's presence. We need to forgive OURSELVES and build bridges despite the schisms in the past.

I know this is my first status update since 2020 begin, but all of us agree that 2020 delivered a low-blow
to each of us with the miscellaneous events we have recently seen which brought all of us great displeasure.
