... This is very good to see, hats off to Katherine for showing real motherly love for her child.

Katherine Jackson's suit seeks hundreds of millions of dollars from AEG including $200 million in non-economic damages, including emotional distress.
The case centers on whether AEG did an appropriate investigation of Murray and whether they controlled him while he was preparing Jackson for a series of concerts in London.
During arguments, the question arose of why Katherine Jackson did not sue Murray. Attorneys disclosed that Jackson's son Prince and his daughter, Paris, testified in depositions that they believed Murray was "a good person" and didn't want him sued. But Katherine Jackson, who had the decision, testified it was financial, they said.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A Los Angeles judge set the stage Thursday for trial of a civil suit by Michael Jackson's mother against concert giant AEG Live.
Katherine Jackson claims the company negligently hired the doctor later convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the singer's death and failed to oversee him. She and the singer's two eldest children are expected to testify about the singer's last days.

... I agree with Cole, was Dr. Murray working for AEG or Michael Jackson.

ABC News legal analyst Dana Cole said this trial will come down to one question.
"The fact of the matter this has very little to do with the children's testimony. It has everything to do with who was Dr. Murray working for. AEG or Michael Jackson?" said Cole.

Michael Jackson's Children Expected to Testify About His Final Days

All eyes will be on Michael Jackson's two eldest children as they are expected to be the star witnesses in a wrongful death suit filed by the family against the concert promoters who sponsored the singer's ill-fated "This Is It" tour.
The trial, which begins today in Los Angeles, is expected to last three to four months. Prince, 16, and his 14-year-old sister, Paris, are expected to testify about their father's final days leading up to his 2009 overdose death.

... WoW! This trial has the promise of being a star-studded duzzy.

AEG contends it did not hire Murray, who had previously treated Jackson and who the singer requested serve as his physician.
Murray remains jailed and is appealing his conviction.
The trial will address issues about Jackson's health and finances that were not factors in Murray's criminal trial, and may also feature testimony from the singer's two oldest children. Stars such as Diana Ross, Spike Lee and Quincy Jones are also listed as potential witnesses, and several top AEG executives are expected to testify.
Jackson's health and finances part of civil trial

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Millions, and possibly billions, of dollars are at stake in a civil trial starting Monday over allegations from Michael Jackson's mother that the company promoting his comeback failed to properly investigate the doctor convicted in his death.
Jurors will listen to remarks from attorneys who hope to frame the issues before testimony begins in the months-long trial.

... We still love you Michael, regardless of the defense attorney's rant...

During his opening remarks, Panish displayed several emails between AEG executives discussing Jackson's health.
One was sent by AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips before Jackson's news conference announcing his "This Is It" shows. The message to Tim Leiweke, former CEO of AEG'S parent company, stated that Jackson was drunk and refusing to address fans.
"This is the scariest thing I have ever seen," Phillips wrote to Leiweke. "He is an emotionally paralyzed mess riddled with self-loathing and doubt now that it's show time. He's scared to death."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Two sides of Michael Jackson have emerged during the start of a trial involving a lawsuit over his death.
The superstar was repeatedly called an addict by lawyers on both sides of the lawsuit filed by Jackson's mother against concert giant AEG Live.
His financial struggles also were put on display during the proceedings that resumed Tuesday.
"The truth is, Michael Jackson fooled everyone," defense attorney Marvin S. Putnam told jurors. "He made sure that no one — nobody — knew his deepest, darkest secrets."
