Sista Destee,Yes Sister Amnat ... many feel justified in talking ugly about their Mommas ... and may even be justified in doing so.
I don't know anything about that kind of living, and find it very difficult to imagine growing up under.
My parents made decisions that i did not like, did things i did not like, but i will never talk ugly about them.
For those that feel they must ... my heart aches for them.

It's good that we can understand one another and reach beyond our experiences. Sometimes when people have different experiences they see things differently. This becomes a problem when each person thinks his or her experience is universal.
For years, for decades, I bristled whenever someone talked about how loving their mother was and they can't understand how anyone could say something bad about their mother. I bristled not because they had a loving mother but because they could not understand my experience and in their attitudes had denied me the permission to even express the pain and anger I felt.
