Forgotten

Yes we are the forgotten ones
We were laid down somewhere
I think in the depths of the hearts of our oppressors
Forgetting where they put us
They just went on with life as usual
Forgetting there was a forgotten race

Yes we are the forgotten ones
The ones who's inheritances
Was meshed in with the upper race
We had no faces no lips no eyes
Just feet and hands and legs
That did all the tilling and the toiling
While they enjoyed the precious fruits of our labor

Yes we are the forgotten ones
The dark treasures that they so skillfully found
Yet so skillfully hid even from the creator himself
Why he had to make several attempts to send a savior to us
Each gun down, hung, unjustly tried and convicted only
To see that there labor was in vain because we were never found

Now another generation is asking the same question
Where is my picture in the family tree?
When do I take my place in history?
Oh that's right
I am the forgotten race
The forgotten inheritance
The forgotten fruit
The forgotten mind
The forgotten child

I am the forgotten

I am looking for participants in a study to share their experiences as former African American males served as ED/EBD/BD in the southeast. Participants ages 18-35 will be interviewed and given the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings and impressions of their school years. If interested or for more information please contact me directly. Thanks, Cheryl

Thank you for the welcome. I have a question. I am a doctorate student in need of participants for my study. Is it allowable to post a request for study participants. If so, this is the post that would be uploaded:
