Obama has actually done a great job domestically. He inherited the worst financial crisis since the depression and managed to navigate out of it while avoiding the potential "double dip recession" and depressions that many reasonably predicted were highly possible.

And he did it with NO help from a congress held captive by extremist Tea party nutjobs. We should all be thankful it was he and not Romney or McCain steering the ship the past few years. This "hasn't done enough for black people" crap is bogus.

Good looking out, TheEye, and welcome on board ...

Peace In,

Jesse is a disappointment to me. I can't stand him! I hate the title of Rev he wears. He's never there to speak on anything credible. Just a mud slinger!

The Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. took aim at PresidentBarack Obama for his lack of action in
addressing the economic disparities that plague Black Americans.

The revered civil rights activist said that as the nation's first Black president, Obama has failed the
Black community and should have done more to deal with the disproportionate number of African
Americans who are unemployed.

"The unfinished business is this issue of targeting racial justice,” Jackson told International Business
Times
.

I'm definitely much worse off than before he became president, but I don't attribute that to him only, but more so this government, this system as a whole. I believe though, that he has done what he was predicted to do byway of the higher people in office and in this system wanted him to do. As far as Rev. Jesse Jackson, I'm glad he spoke out, but I believe that he too has failed Black people.

Hmmm

I believe though, that he has done what he was predicted to do byway of the higher people in office and in this system wanted him to do.

Let us just agree there's a double standard being applied towards the black guy in the white house

And what a mess he had to clean up from the getgo

But now his time is almost up

As far as Rev. Jesse Jackson, I'm glad he spoke out, but I believe that he too has failed Black people.

His comments etc are yesterday's newsprint

Jesse Knows that even though Obama is the temporary Leader of the Most Powerful Nation on the Earth today, there are something that are best accomplish by a bottom up approach or Obama risk alienating his base and loosing all support. No President Stands alone, even when they know what needs doing and that it is right and just. Presidents are first and foremost Politicians and live and die by the polls of popularity and consent.
Obama is not a Malcolm or Martin who lead by Moral Suasion but a Politician who must test which way the winds of popular opinion are blowing first before they make a decision.

So to Jesse I say, Make him...... just as how Martin and the Civil Rights Movement made Johnson do It.

Jesse is great he has Agitate and Organize and has some Institutions use them to make him do it, by fostering and creating moral pressure around the issue and like Roosevelt, Obamawill gladly sign on the dotted line.....All politician like do do those things when the wind is in their favor

One of the most oft-cited incidents from FDR’s presidency is a policy meeting he held with labor leaders shortly after his election, which he concluded by telling them “I agree with you, I want to do it, now make me do it.” Did Roosevelt ever actually say those words? Who knows? Like Washington and his cherry tree, what matters is why we tell the story and what it says about how we view the man in question. FDR understood that regardless of what he personally believed, change had to happen from the bottom up, not just from the top down. He was a bold leader who was never afraid to take on a fight as long as he had the American people on his side. If we stop assuming that politicians will simply deliver progress without our involvement or that the process of policymaking is out of our hands once our votes are cast, then we might start to see elections in a very different light.

Thank you for the welcome. I have a question. I am a doctorate student in need of participants for my study. Is it allowable to post a request for study participants. If so, this is the post that would be uploaded:
