I celebrate a Pan African holiday called African Independence day on May 25th by wearing Black. Red, and Green. This is celebrated world wide not just in Africa.

Certainly wish I could peep the above link, but here's what I get; however, it could be my system:

This site can’t provide a secure connection

Sounds like its your system. Try this and tell me if it works. The first link uses the secure protocol https. Also email it to yourself and open it on your phone to see if it works there.

Edit

Never mind. I just realized the server will still force your computer to use the secure protocol. Just try it on your phone.

Miss this guy, hope all is well ... Asomfwaa.

I can't even name African months. I did have some books that informed me of festivals; but my impression is "holidays" are either more seasonal or "incalculable."

For instance, one celebration in the Akan was about every 40 days. But only about every interval. I think it depended on how many days the last celebration lasted.

Another thing to note is Harvest Festivals may be more related to whether Harvesting started/finished than what date it is. The same with other celebrations related to the seasons.

In other words, it might not make sense to celebrate an African Holiday outside of Africa. Although we do have Kwanzaa and the birthdays of great Africans.

It's been a good while, but this place has always been home. Thankful to be here.
Hi! I'm not as active on this account as I want to be. For one I tend to forget that this site exists until I check my email. Two, I'm currently in the process of building up a fine art site for Oklahoma black and native historical references. The references correlate with another site that will be a storytelling site that has not yet been produced.
Happy to be back and gaining more knowledge!
