As I sit here and reflect back my eyes well with tears of joy
I am so very proud of you my son, my young man
Your no longer my little boy, you have come so far
But yet have far to go and from what I can see
You are on the right road

Im not going to sit here and say I told you so
I knew one day you would wake up and see that
Its more to life than fly units, bummpn Speakers,
the lastest $175 sneakers, and lets not forget all them females
Blowing up your phone keepn’ you destracted
From whats really going on

I know having to cut your locs to get that job was hard
Its only hair son it can grow back
Now your walking around with your pockets all fat
And I know you really like that

Our relationship was strained for a very long time
It hurt me to my soul because you are the only thing
That is truly constant in my life I was so afraid for you
Did not want you to get caught up in that madness
That plagues our young black men lives
Leaving them dead or locked up from chasing media lies

I had to step back and loosen the reins let you feel a little
Hurt, despair, and pain I knew one day you would get it right
Your way to intelligent to just give up and not fight

Now we are back on track like it use to be
Our bond is even stronger
A mother and son team that can’t be defeated or torn down
No matter what because I love you so very much
And I know you love me too

I am so honored to be your mother
Because you gave me the drive to keep me hangn’ in there
When life and its elements were trying to beat me down
It was you that kept my backbone straight
Never to negate from what I needed to do

You see I have learned some things from you too
When I look at you I can't believe your 22
And I just wanted to tell you that
You are one awesome young man
And I am so very proud of you

Love Mom

Speaking to 4EVERLUV

Wisdom walks majestically in your poetic tale
A mom telling how events change on her son’s life scale
It’s as though he’s been tried, measured, and seen accepted!
Mom’s prayers cause Satan’s plans to be intercepted

ENJOY PEACE

Well, I got teary eyed reading this. We want to be so much for our children, guard them from all the pain. But if we do that they'll never learn. So hard to watch them learn sometimes. Anywho, I felt all your heart in this. Thank you for sharing part of your son.

Whew...Im holding back tears on this one...
4ever. This cuts deep. Wish I had a mom growing up, to love and support me like this.

Just a very emotional and involving work. It just draws you in subtly without being sappy or overtly cloying. Your word choices were just so on time, they really fit the piece as a whole. It is about "feeling"..and this piece made me feel something, a mother's love.

Ill be back again reading this one. Like all good works, it draws me in.

I am looking for participants in a study to share their experiences as former African American males served as ED/EBD/BD in the southeast. Participants ages 18-35 will be interviewed and given the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings and impressions of their school years. If interested or for more information please contact me directly. Thanks, Cheryl

Thank you for the welcome. I have a question. I am a doctorate student in need of participants for my study. Is it allowable to post a request for study participants. If so, this is the post that would be uploaded:
