Nigeria’s military executes 6 Christian soldiers framed for crime, human rights leaders say

Government now claims the Christian soldiers are alive, but no one has seen them

Boko Harem hopes to establish an independent Islamic state in northern Nigeria where it operates.

The group's name in the local Hausa language is said to mean: "Western education is forbidden." I guess that's why Boko Harem kidnaps school children and holds them for ransom until some of its leaders are freed.

Boko Harem pledged its allegiance to ISIS in 2015 and violence from its 11-year old insurgency has spread to Niger, Chad and Cameroon. The Nigerian Army probably needs helicopters to engage the fighters. But Boko Harem reportedly has supporters inside the Nigerian military.

Sadly, this is just another conflict in a long history of religious wars.
