Black People : If You're Good At Anything--Expect To Be Hated!

You keep talking about white people as though they still have Black people in chains, but I'm saying that the chains are those that constrict the minds of many Black people. That's why so many are still stuck.

Oh, I know, but many people lose focus because they concentrate so much on who hates them and get off track because of it. They're only playing into the hands of those who choose to do nothing about their dreams.

You want to play the victim game--I'm telling you that white folks have convinced many Black people they are exactly what is assumed by them, but they're not calling us the N-word--now Black people think it's ok to use it. Who's fault is it? You really don't understand me--but it's very clear.

What I'm saying is that the racism of the past is not the tactics whites use. It's like how soldiers are trained to use psychological warfare against and enemy. Instead of your arch enemy attacking you; he uses the power of suggestion: "you're inferior, stupid, lack self-control, are violent...

And what could you do to change the situation? You identified yourself as the "token Negro" but you also have the power to impact change, yet you choose to act as though you're powerless. This is what I'm talking about.

You're talking about institutionalized racism. What you see happening in many Black communities is a direct result of self-deprivation. Who makes Black people take drugs? Who makes Black people keep having kids without being married--yet crying POVERTY! Really? Who is making some Black...

In my honest opinion, Black people give white people too much credit. White people aren't doing anything to Black people today: they just watch as the effects of psychological warfare act out in Black people--placed in the minds of African slaves hundreds of years ago.

The culture we're living in right now is definitely a thug culture and the hate that we all have to deal with just on a daily basis can make one put on the Ninja suit and get busy...:SuN003:

Black People : Standing Up For People You Do Not Know - Ever Done It?

Yes, I've done this. The first time was in second grade. I stood up for a little girl in my class who was being picked on. And I was shy myself. Don't know where the gumption came, but it came and I let the bully have it.

Can we just be real today? Many of you are in college and you're busy at work on your future careers. However, some of you are still trying to figure out what your path should be. However, there are those rare people who just seem to be extremely driven, focused and determined to achieve...

Black People : What Happened to "Real Talent?"

Chuck D was so embarrassed by Flava Flav's behavior on that show and in general, he publically apologized to fans. I never watched it, but I loved Public Enemy back in the day. They've never had an equal in my opinion.

I say the moment we ushered in the year 2000, music dipped. The nineties was a strong decade musically. It's only topped by the 70's.

Yes, I agree that there is talent, but like you said; you have to "find" it. I have a pretty decent music collection, but I'd like to add more new artists to it. Sadly, I just haven't liked much of what I've heard.

More appropriately, it is called SKILLS. And most of these so called entertainers DON'T HAVE IT. However, the public supports this garbage because of ignorance. I say: IT'S TIME FOR A REVOLUTION!!!

Black People : What Happened to "Real Talent?"

You're right. Kids are miseducated today, but it's up to us to educate them. Like our parents and grandparents did for our generation. I can fondly remember being told about all of our music greats from Louis Armstrong, Count Basie to Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley. You heard...
