    Black Poetry : Womb-an

The story behind it is pretty interesting too...you never know when you're being healed in the midst of healing others.

    Black Poetry : Womb-an

This piece is for anyone who has ever lost a child: WOMB-AN To the child born into the Spirit... To the sacrificial Lamb... To the Soul that will bear witness To the Womb-an that I am I ask you one last favor Please intercede for me Ask God to give me the strength To become the Womb-an I...

Poetry Critiques : I FEEL YOU

I really like the descriptiveness that you use in your poem. It starts off in one rhythm and then by the end of the poem it's in a completely different rhythm...and that's the joy of writing freestyle poetry.

Poetry Critiques : Spiritual Con Artist

That was a really strong poem...I haven't been on this site in a while, but it's always a blessing to read other people's pieces. The rhythm and flow of the piece was well put together...I read it about 3 or 4 times. Thanks for the blessing!

Black People : Fantasia Barrino: Baby Mama

I agree with your sentiments about the struggle of black children not having 2 parents in the home. I do feel that single mothers who are working hard to take care of their children deserve some credit. Personally, I would have said something a lot deeper than "Baby Mamas", but I understand...

Black Entertainment : favorite female rapper of all time

Truer words have never been spoken!!! I disagree with her hip hop status being watered down by her other talents because I think those other talents contributed to her greatness. To me, that's just one of the things that made her unique. She is my all-time favorite. Bahamadia and MC Lyte are...

You know what, I think he still watches me though. I'd be at home sometimes and feel a presence. He just won't show himself to me since I asked him not to.

    Leaving the nest

I don't know about a particular age to leave home. I had a plan when I graduated from high school, so I left home at 18. Everyone has their reasons for staying, but me personally, I couldn't imagine going back home to live with one of my parents. I've been on my own for too long now.

Black People : Supernatural occurrences. Do you believe in them?

I definitely believe in the spirit world because I've had my own experiences. When my mother was pregnant with me, her boyfriend died in a bad car accident. Before his death, he was really excited about seeing me when I was born and he wanted to be a part of my life even though he wasn't my...
