    Dishonoring General Jackson

In Samuel Eliot Morison's "The Oxford History of the American People," there is a single sentence about Harriet Tubman.

"An illiterate field hand, (Tubman) not only escaped herself but returned repeatedly and guided more than 300 slaves to freedom" ...

    Dishonoring General Jackson

Great men are rarely good men, and Jackson was a Scots-Irish duelist, Indian fighter and slave owner. But then, Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Madison and Monroe were slave owners before him. To remove his portrait from the front of the $20...

To remove Andrew Jackson's portrait from the front of the $20 bill, and replace it with Harriet Tubman's, is affirmative action that approaches the absurd, writes columnist Pat Buchanan

Andrew Jackson Can Rot In Hell

... This is great news! Andrew Jackson is one of the worst human beings to ever occupy the office of President of the United States, and that’s really saying something! After all, the White House has also been home to war criminals like Lyndon B. Johnson, Constitutional criminals like Richard Nixon, and fashion criminals like Jimmy Carter. (No but seriously, Jimmy Carter is a wonderful, generous person, but his beige cardigans were hideous. The Most Powerful Man on Earth should not deign to wear such drab, non-confrontational garments. No wonder the Iranians pushed him around.) ...

Big news from the U.S. Treasury: vicious, violent, racist slaveholder and indigenous people-persecutor Andrew Jackson is being replaced on the front of the $20 bill by Harriet Tubman, a legendary antislavery activist, liberator of slaves, Civil War Union spy, all around badass, andreal-life superhero

Video: What Trump, Carson don't get about Harriet Tubman

(CNN)In life, Harriet Tubman was so tough, so dynamic, she said she would be willing to shoot one of the slaves she was trying to free if that was the only way to get others to safety.

In life, she overcame bondage and scaled seemingly impossible racial and gender barriers to do God's work in the face of people who would have loved nothing more than to string her up high on a tree and literally whip her to death ...

Andrew Jackson Never Wanted To Be On Your Money

Andrew Jackson really wouldn't have wanted to be on our funny money central bank notes, anyway. And for good reason.

Andrew Jackson Didn’t Want To Be On Your Central Bank Notes, Anyway

When they used all the negro characters to sell soap, oil, flour and pancake mix whites couldn't get enough of ridiculing black face, pushing brands and using black face ( negro images ) in every advertisement. Their grandparents used these ads, not caring how offensive they were.
So seeing Tubman on the $20.00 should not be offensive.

Harriet Tubman's Unearthed Story From Her Biography Gives New Significance to the $20 Bill

And Tubman may have predicted it herself. Kind of.

Following the Treasury's announcement, Yoni Appelbaum, Washington Bureau Chief at the Atlantic, unearthed a telling moment from Tubman's biography, Harriet: The Moses of Her People. In it, Tubman stages a strike to procure the $20 she needs to free her parents, who were still enslaved in Maryland: ...

The Amazing Stories Behind the Women Joining Harriet Tubman on New Cash

Harriet Tubman and her flashy new job as the face of the 20-dollar bill stole all the headlines last week. But Tubman isn’t the only woman who’s literally getting upgraded to money status. In fact, of the nine historical figures that will be drawn onto new bills, eight are women. (The ninth is Martin Luther King Jr.) And while we’re pretty focused right now on finding out how rappers will refer to Harriet Tubman twenties in their lyrics, we have to acknowledge some really cool stuff about the ladies chosen to occupy the backs of the new bills ...
