If people would stop reading these comic book Government and horn tooting faux independent journalist assessments of America's military capability comparisons to our only other real nuclear capable military adversary "Russia" American citizens would focus on real world issues like the care, feeding and education of our children.

    Short list

    1. USAF F35 Fighter Program
    2. USN Ohio Class Trident SLBM/SLCM Program
    3. Russian SRF Topol M ICBM Program
    4. Russian SRF RS28 Sarmat Program

Interested in real world taxpayer funded military weapons programs. FOI is your friend.

As North Korea intensifies missile program, U.S. opens $11 billion base in South Korea

... "We built an entire city from scratch," said Col. Scott Mueller, garrison commander of Camp Humphreys, one of the U.S. military's largest overseas construction projects. If it were laid across Washington, the 3,454-acre base would stretch from Key Bridge to Nationals Park, from Arlington National Cemetery to the Capitol ...

Now an almost two decade old multi role military basing program is resurrected to counter the North Korean missile threat? I guess the 12+ existing United States Military Camps surrounding Seoul are not enough of a target. Only problem other then creating a much bigger and easier to strike bullseye for North Korean conventional missiles or the Chinese built & supplied equivalent of the USN Railgun this super military base will contain it's own self supporting infrastructure which leaves not only existing but prospective South Korean businesses expecting to cash in on sales to military and civilian personnel in a complete state of stagnation if not outright bankruptcy. Well you know what the pundits on the sidewalk of Geopolitics say about the military intelligence parade of fools? Sort of reminds you of Jumbo shrimp. Thanks for reading.

Did you see the flimsy reasoning offered for the move, if not, here it is:

"... The U.S. military has been trying for 30 years to move its headquarters in South Korea out of Seoul and out of North Korean artillery range ..."

    @Jumbo shrimp, good one.

Thanks for that information. I'm glad we're spending some money now for our military. Much needed when I think N. Korea is going to use one of Kim's IBM toys carrying a nuclear warhead. He thinks he can reach the middle of American mainland. This doesn't seem like a mere hint, but an absolute intention.

You are so right Mr. Clyde. Your key phrase being "ARTILLERY RANGE" Hmmm but isn't this super base supposed to give Kim Jung Un pause in contemplating the use of his ICBM's? Now let's do the math, this super base is approximately 35 miles South of the NK/SK DMZ, North Korea's Southernmost ICBM mobile launch gantry with a range of 7,000 miles in depressed trajectory mode well capable of detonating over any city of choice in mid continent America is approximately 190 miles Northeast of the DMZ, hmmm, never reach the new super base, keep building my loyal soldiers, we're in no danger. Hence the term: Jumbo Shrimp. Big guns, no brains. On a side note, the USN Third Fleet Has pulled anchor & is steaming toward The East China Sea where the USN Seventh fleet has been cooling it's rudders awaiting orders to do only GOD & Mr. Trump knows. This is getting interesting.

Your math makes sense to me, Lunar Cycle. And on top of all this, 11 billion was spent on such a superficial project.

North Korea May Have Tried to Attack Japan, Kim Jong Un Missile Launch Photo Shows

North Korea is generally known as a place that likes to keep secrets, but its propaganda arm may have inadvertently let loose something huge—that the country's first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) was supposed to land within Japanese...
